A leading hotel group is seeking a Director of Finance and Business Support to enhance profitability while managing financial operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, team leadership, and communication, ensuring financial controls are upheld and the hotel's financial health is prioritized. Bottom line? We’re looking for a new Director of Finance and Business Support comfortable with balancing the books when it comes to managing the needs of owners, auditors and regulatory agencies while also monitoring and improving hotel profitability. In return, we’ll put our financial operations and the security of our hotel assets in your expert hands.
Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:
● Acts as business support to the hotel General Manager, closely working to drive and deliver the best results and owners' return without compromising quality service and product delivery, and the well-being of Our People.
● Manage Owners' and Asset Management's expectations
● Managing and coaching your team to ensure the right person is managing the right task
● Setting exceptional accounting practice standards and ensuring financial control procedures remain ethical and legal
● Maximising financial returns through financial analysis, data trends and market information – while budgeting accordingly
● Enhancing the guest experience through improved payment options, inventory controls and financial dispute resolution
● Supervising a number of clerical accounting employees across a range of functions – from Accounts Payable to Purchasing and Payroll.
What We need from you:
● Bachelor’s degree / higher education qualification / equivalent in Accounting and Finance
● Minimum 3 years of experience in the same capacity in an international 5-star hotel and resort
● Strong technical knowledge of Accounting systems, including but not limited to payroll management system, purchasing system and People's Soft.
● Knowledge of accounting management duties, e.g., negotiating hotel space and tenant leases, processing payroll, performing asset management duties, providing business projections, displacement analysis, preparing government reports, filing tax returns, etc
● Professional accounting or finance designation or certification preferred
● Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
● Strong leadership skills and ability to manage stakeholders and manage stakeholders' relationships
