Job description

Bottom line? We are looking for a new Director of Finance and Business Support who is comfortable balancing the books while managing the needs of owners, auditors, and regulatory agencies, as well as monitoring and improving hotel profitability. In return, we will entrust you with our financial operations and the security of our hotel assets.

Every day is different, but your primary responsibilities will include:

  1. Acting as business support to the hotel General Manager, working closely to drive results and maximize owners' returns without compromising service quality and staff well-being.
  2. Managing owners' and asset management expectations.
  3. Managing and coaching your team to ensure appropriate task management.
  4. Setting high standards for accounting practices and ensuring financial controls are ethical and legal.
  5. Maximizing financial returns through analysis of data trends and market information, and budgeting accordingly.
  6. Enhancing guest experience through improved payment options, inventory controls, and dispute resolution.
  7. Supervising clerical accounting staff across functions such as Accounts Payable, Purchasing, and Payroll.

Qualifications we need from you:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting and Finance, or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role within an international 5-star hotel and resort.
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounting systems, including payroll, purchasing, and PeopleSoft.
  • Knowledge of accounting duties such as lease negotiations, payroll processing, asset management, business projections, government reporting, and tax filing.
  • Professional accounting or finance certification preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong leadership abilities and stakeholder management skills.
