A leading company in the hospitality industry, Rixos, is seeking a Finance Director in Ras Al-Khaimah to oversee the Finance Department. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in finance and accounting leadership, particularly within hospitality, and will manage budgeting, reporting, and compliance. Under the general direction of the Country Director of Finance and General Manager, within the limits of established Rixos Hotel Policies and Procedures, oversees and directs the day-to-day operation of the Finance Department and maintains the overall efficiency of standards set. Promotes a positive work environment.
Organizes and monitors all affairs related to the position.
Maintains proper grooming at all times.
Attends training sessions as scheduled.
Shows full cooperation and respect within the team and other departments.
Is aware of daily activities and possesses product knowledge of all hotel facilities.
Prepares and participates in the control of all aspects of budgets, operating equipment purchases, and other finance and business-related activities as necessary.
Maintains monthly reconciliation with owners on the yearly budget and confirms the full closing balance within the requested period.
Reports regularly to the regional office on progress and updates on critical projects to ensure 100% completion of the project plan.
Establishes and builds strong professional relationships with owners and their representatives.
Coordinates and plans with the IT department for system setup, implementation, and training.
Understands the full terms of the management agreement and ensures compliance with all key clauses.
Prepares cash flow projections and assesses working capital requirements.
Prepares operational budget.
Establishes strong cash management controls, prepares monthly cash flow forecasts, and recommends actions accordingly.
Supervises the maintenance of and coordinates with the Regional Director of Finance on hotel accounting procedures and controls, ensuring compliance with Rixos policies and local requirements.
Maintains daily communication with management regarding expense and income controls. Prepares reports as required by the General Manager, Regional, or Corporate Management.
Works with all hotel departments on expenses and finance, keeping them informed and investigating questionable items.
Checks, supervises, and controls all purchases, disbursements, payroll, and expenses of the hotel.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of local laws related to hotel operations and communicates changes to the General Manager and Regional Director of Finance.
Maintains and updates all tenant leases, contracts, licenses, permits, insurance, and mortgage documents, ensuring compliance.
Works with the Personnel Department on payroll control, budgets, and procedures.
Initiates and supervises stock inventories and fixed assets checks.
Supervises and collaborates with the Credit Manager to minimize overdue balances and losses from delinquent accounts and uncollected guest charges.
Participates actively in credit meetings.
Supervises the preparation and timely submission of tax returns and reports to government authorities and owning companies, in accordance with regulations.
Seeks advice from legal and financial professionals as needed.
Submits tax returns and government reports on time.
Prepares the Monthly Financial Report and other documents required by the company.
Ensures all reports to the owning company and Rixos are completed on time.
Attends scheduled training classes.
Shows full cooperation and respect within the team and other departments.
Possesses product knowledge of all hotel facilities.
Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting leadership, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the hospitality industry.
Strong understanding of financial regulations and accounting principles.
Proven ability to develop and implement financial strategies.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or other relevant advanced degree is a plus.
Experience with accounting systems or similar financial software for reporting, analysis, and presentation.
