Job description

As Director of Finance, I will assume full responsibility for the efficient operation of the Finance department within Six Senses financial operating standards. In conjunction with the General Manager and other executives, I am a key participant in setting the strategic direction of the property.

The duties and responsibilities will include:

1. Establish and maintain effective management of the property's accounting practices and provide financial information and reports to all divisions and departments, the Home Office, and the owners.
2. Prepare the annual budget and capital expenditure plan and monitor actual financial performance against the budget.
3. Oversee financial transactions, including approval of purchase requisitions and orders, payments, petty cash, payroll, audits, and other financial requests.
4. Ensure internal controls are in place to comply with financial legislation and taxation requirements, and that our financial, payroll, and information systems are effective.
5. Respond immediately to audit issues and oversee corrective actions to address deficiencies.
6. Continuously improve the financial function in line with Six Senses practices.
7. Ensure that purchasing practices meet the requirements of the Six Senses Sustainability & Eat With Six Senses platforms and guidelines.
8. Conduct vendor/supplier vetting, stocktakes, and storage assessments to ensure stock is on hand, properly stored, and aligned with Six Senses standards.
9. Establish and deliver pre-set financial targets related to revenue, profitability, and ROIC.
10. Operate the property in compliance with all legal, statutory, and financial requirements, including documentation, reporting systems, contractual obligations, security, safety protocols, communication standards, and budget controls.

Qualifications

To qualify for the Director of Finance role, candidates should have:

• A minimum of a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or an equivalent field.
• 4-8 years of experience in hotel accounting or audit, including at least one year in a supervisory role such as Assistant Controller.
• CPA certification is preferred.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in Arabic is advantageous.
