abrdn is a global investment company that helps clients and customers plan, save, and invest for the future. We manage and administer 506bn AUMA as of 30 June 2024.

abrdn covers its Middle East & African clients from its regional office in Abu Dhabi, which is where this role is based.

About the role

As the Director of Business Development, you will be responsible for maintaining and expanding abrdn's presence in the Middle East & Africa region. This includes strengthening existing client relationships, developing new opportunities, and driving strategic initiatives to achieve growth.

Within this role, you will be building and managing a number of abrdn's client relationships in Kuwait and across the Middle East & Africa region.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Business Development:

    • Develop a deep understanding of abrdn's investment products to effectively engage a diverse client base and showcase abrdn's investment capabilities.
    • Identify growth opportunities and drive initiatives that align with regional and organizational goals.
  2. Client Relationship Management:

    • Serve as a trusted advisor matching client investment needs with tailored propositions and product offerings.
    • Develop long-term partnerships with clients to ensure client satisfaction and enhance retention.
    • Oversee the management of relationships with key clients to support business growth and achieve targeted outcomes.
  3. Strategic Planning:

    • Develop and implement strategies to secure new growth opportunities.
    • Prepare specific business plans for Kuwait and proposals aimed at maximizing growth.

About the candidate requirements

  • Knowledge of the Kuwait investment landscape.
  • Experience in developing and implementing strategies to secure new growth opportunities.
  • Experience in developing long-term partnerships with clients to ensure client satisfaction and enhance retention.
  • Ability to provide accurate and actionable management reporting for internal stakeholders.
