Job Summary:

The Director of Branding is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and governance of the organization's brand strategy across all touchpoints. This leadership role ensures that the brand identity, messaging, and visual expression are consistently communicated internally and externally to build a strong, recognizable, and respected brand presence on local, regional, and global levels.

Key Responsibilities:

Brand Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and lead the execution of a comprehensive brand strategy that aligns with the organization’s mission, vision, and long-term objectives.
  • Define and evolve brand architecture, positioning, and value proposition to ensure relevance and differentiation.
  • Provide strategic branding counsel to senior leadership and departments across the organization.
  • Lead brand transformation initiatives, including rebranding and visual identity refreshes.

Visual Identity & Creative Direction

  • Oversee the development and implementation of visual identity guidelines and ensure consistency across all materials.
  • Manage the creation of high-impact design assets for digital, print, and environmental branding.
  • Supervise in-house design teams and external creative agencies to ensure excellence and brand alignment.

Integrated Brand Communication

  • Collaborate with marketing, communication, and digital teams to ensure all content and campaigns reflect the brand’s tone, voice, and visual identity.
  • Work closely with PR and social media teams to enhance brand visibility and resonance across media platforms.
  • Support internal brand engagement efforts to foster a brand-aligned culture.

Brand Governance & Quality Assurance

  • Establish and manage brand governance frameworks to ensure brand consistency across departments and external partners.
  • Train internal teams and stakeholders on brand guidelines and usage protocols.
  • Conduct regular brand audits to monitor and enhance brand health.

Research & Performance Monitoring

  • Use consumer insights, brand tracking studies, and market analysis to inform branding decisions.
  • Set KPIs and measure brand equity, awareness, perception, and engagement.
  • Adjust branding strategies based on performance data and emerging trends.

Qualifications:

Education & Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Branding, Communication, or related field.
  • Master’s degree or specialized certification in branding or design is preferred.

Experience

  • 12+ years of experience in brand strategy, marketing, or communications, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven track record of developing and managing high-impact brand initiatives.
  • Experience working within a complex organization or government/public sector is a plus.
  • Deep understanding of branding principles, creative direction, and audience segmentation.
  • Strong leadership and team development abilities.
  • Proficiency in design tools, brand management platforms, and content creation workflows.
  • Excellent project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
