Position Overview

We are seeking a government affairs professional based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to join Salesforce’s EMEA Government Affairs team. The Middle-East Government Affairs Director will report to the Head of EMEA Government Affairs. This team leads Salesforce’s engagement with government officials, legislators, regulators, and political stakeholders, shaping public policy positions. The role involves building and expanding Salesforce’s interactions with government entities across the Middle East, ensuring recognition as the #1 CRM AI Enterprise and a trusted partner in digital transformation.

Responsibilities
  • Government Relations Strategy: Develop and implement a government relations strategy aligned with Salesforce’s regional business objectives, fostering relationships with senior officials in GCC countries.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with government officials, policymakers, and industry groups to advocate for Salesforce’s interests and participate in relevant forums.
  • Policy Discussions: Monitor legislative and regulatory developments, advise senior management, and represent Salesforce in meetings and industry events, advocating for policies that support tech sector growth.
  • Compliance: Collaborate internally to ensure regional activities comply with laws and regulations, providing guidance on compliance issues.
  • Values: Contribute to Salesforce’s Impact Program and the 1-1-1 model initiatives in the Middle East.
  • Internal Collaboration: Work with legal, PR, and business teams to coordinate external and government affairs strategies, providing counsel on public policy and geopolitical issues.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Over 10 years of relevant experience in government, industry, consulting, or think tanks, preferably in technology policy.
  • Active network of senior government contacts in Middle East countries, especially GCC states.
  • Fluent in English and Arabic, both written and spoken.
  • Deep understanding of local business and political environments.
  • Knowledge of tech policy issues such as privacy, security, AI, data, and trade.
  • Willingness to learn continuously about evolving technology landscapes.
  • Alignment with Salesforce’s values of trust, customer success, innovation, and equality.

  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, independent worker with a service-minded attitude.
  • Strong political, analytical, and communication skills with high attention to detail.
  • Experience with multinational corporations and cross-departmental collaboration.
