Director - Leveraged & Acquisition Finance

The role shall require :

  • Evaluating, structuring, and executing new deals along with the coverage & credit team; the focus will be on fund financing transactions (including capital call / subscription line facilities, NAV / asset-backed facilities, hybrid facilities, co-invest and SMA facilities, involving private equity, debt, credit, real estate, and infrastructure funds);
  • Taking a proactive approach to deal origination, conducting analysis, proposing debt structures, and helping develop solutions for clients, and helping differentiate FAB vis-à-vis market competitors;
  • Hands-on role in modeling, documentation, and engagement with internal parties and external advisors;
  • Preparing and efficiently processing credit approval packages;
  • Assisting in developing an internal framework for internal credit rating of new products;
  • Liaising with external credit agencies to obtain credit ratings;
  • Assisting in managing existing loan portfolio and preparing MIS and reports from time to time;
  • Analyzing financing requirements and helping develop a point of view in support of senior loan origination team members;
  • Assisting in negotiating terms with borrowers and other lenders, and driving documentation based on LMA or LSTA standards;
  • Working and coaching the most junior team members by supporting them in their personal and professional development;
  • Working in a timely manner, taking ownership of projects once allocated.

Budgets Plans & MIS :

  • Ensuring internal reporting is accurate and timely, supporting the Head of LAF on strategic initiatives including budgeting and business planning.

Internal Collaboration :

  • Maintaining strong internal relations and collaborating with Coverage partners, Legal, Credit, and Operations in order to ensure timely execution of transactions.
  • Implementing departmental policies, systems, and procedures so that all relevant procedural / legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality and cost-effective service.

Experience and Skills :

  • 5 - 10 years of experience in structured corporate lending transactions, with a minimum of 3+ years’ experience in fund financing (including capital call / subscription line facilities, NAV / asset-backed facilities, hybrid facilities, co-invest and SMA facilities, involving private equity, debt, credit, real estate, and infrastructure funds);
  • Demonstrated exposure to the Private Equity and Private Credit industry; strong credit assessment skills including excellent debt / cash flow modeling experience, and knowledge of accounting principles;
  • Some experience in corporate valuation including DCF, CompCos, and LBO methodologies;
  • Good grasp of legal concepts and loan mechanics, with first-hand experience documenting loan transactions (LMA and LSTA standard documentation for syndicated, leveraged deals);
  • Some experience dealing with Credit Agencies;
  • Desire to step up and project manage multi-party financing transactions;
  • Effective communicator, both written and verbal, able to present complex topics to a senior audience, with a good grasp of details;
  • Ability to work under pressure, stay calm, and thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities;
  • Attention to detail and quality of work product.
