Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. seeks a Director of Legal & Compliance for the GLE Cluster to provide strategic legal advice, manage regulatory compliance, and protect company interests across the UAE, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, Libya, and Egypt.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in law.
• Admitted to practice in one of the GLE jurisdictions is preferred.
• Experience in in-house legal/compliance or pharma/medical devices is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal and compliance guidance to GLE Cluster business activities in alignment with laws and regulations.
• Partner with BPOs and divisional stakeholders to oversee compliance oversight.
• Lead/ co-lead compliance committee meetings with MD and BPOs as needed.
• Manage external counsel and external legal budget in accordance with guidance.
