Job summary

Grant Thornton UAE in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Director to lead audit strategy, manage a portfolio, and guide a team of managers and associates while serving as a principal client contact. You will advance business development, strengthen relationships with CFO/Finance Director level, and drive cross-service-line opportunities across Audit, Tax, Deals and Advisory within the Abu Dhabi market.

Qualifications

• Deep IFRS knowledge and technical accounting expertise.
• Experience in complex transactions, consolidation, M&A/IPO accounting and financial reporting.
• Proven ability to develop business and originate revenue.
• Strong relationships in Abu Dhabi at CFO/Finance Director level.
• Ability to build and grow a technical accounting advisory practice.
• Develop new FRAS services and market propositions.
• Strong skills in proposal, pitching, negotiation and commercial aspects.
• Senior-level management of clients and stakeholders.
• Ability to lead, recruit and develop high-performing teams.
• Focus on engagement quality, risk management and profitability.
• Ability to drive cross-service-line opportunities across Audit, Tax, Deals and Advisory.
• Thought leadership, technical training and market visibility.

Responsibilities

• Supporting senior colleagues in preparing audit strategy and managing a portfolio.
• Organising and reviewing work and overseeing a team of Managers & Associates.
• Acting as a key client contact and driving business development initiatives.
• Leading discussions with leadership to grow the business in the Abu Dhabi market.
• Maintaining strong internal and external networks to support growth.
• Negotiating client fees and delivering high-quality engagements across service lines.
