Job description

Area of interest : Corporate & Commercial Banking

  • To assist Head SAG and ED SSA with management of all impaired accounts and other accounts specifically assigned to SSA to ensure :

Risks are properly assessed / identified and impairment considered as appropriate

  • Account objectives, strategies and action plans are formulated, agreed and adhered to
  • Carry out Enterprise Valuations for material accounts
  • Provide advice around structuring of new money requests or debt equity swaps
  • Manage asset disposal reviews and sales
  • Minimize risks, prevent losses and maximize recoveries
  • Working closely with GCM and FM Sales to direct and manage the sale processes of stressed exposures including identification, assessment, monitoring and management of accounts that should be exited to the market
  • Develop relationships with special situation investors, private equity and credit funds as well as distressed debt traders to enable development of appropriate sell down strategies working alongside GCM and FM Sales teams
  • Prepare full enterprise valuation assessments of material exposures in the stressed assets portfolio
  • Ensure that the Group's risk arising from litigation, environmental claims, regulatory censure or potential reputational loss in regard to the accounts being managed are minimized
  • Develop a culture which understands and evaluates the constant tradeoffs between new business, risk and capital deployment
  • Help improve efficiency, speed, and productivity of capital specifically for stressed asset portfolio and for broader CIB balance sheet

Qualifications

  • Graduate qualifications (or conversions) : Post-Graduate qualifications such as MBA, CFA, Chartered Accountancy, Mathematics / Statistics, Qualified Lawyer
  • Experience in the banking and financial services industry with hands-on experience of underwriting, managing, and recovering credit exposures across both developing and developed jurisdictions
  • Good knowledge of fundamental drivers of credit risk, documentary and legal risks, portfolio, and balance sheet management; including market and regulatory dynamics
  • Good experience in structuring credit risk products, restructuring of credit exposures, asset distribution, and exposure to credit derivatives and asset securitisation
