Job Description

Job Purpose :

SMEs are vital to the UAE's economic health and are increasingly becoming international. FAB aims to strengthen support for domestic SME business and meet their evolving needs.

The jobholder will develop a self-improvement plan, coordinate with their Line Manager, and pursue ongoing development through best practices, peer learning, and training. A key requirement is the ability to assess and address customer needs effectively across existing and prospective clients.

The role also involves ensuring lending and risk policies align with FAB standards.

Key Accountabilities :

Sales and Financial :

  • Enhance relationships with current customers and expand market share.
  • Utilize approved credit limits efficiently.
  • Process credit applications with quality and timeliness.
  • Align pricing and structure of limits with customer needs.
  • Develop competitive, customer-focused approaches.
  • Implement initiatives to increase business inflow and outflow among SME clients.
  • Target high-end market segments and develop new borrowing relationships.
  • Manage the company’s portfolio for Corporate / Commercial Financing.
  • Minimize one-off transactions by proper limit structuring.
  • Build rapport with customers by understanding their financial needs and promoting bank products.
  • Keep clients informed about new products and services.
  • Source new business and follow up on leads.
  • Coordinate with product teams for cross-selling opportunities.
  • Prepare and analyze credit applications, ensuring compliance with policies.
  • Identify early warning signs of account issues and pursue collections.
  • Assess credit risk and structure appropriate limits.
  • Analyze potential risks to clients’ assets and earnings.
  • Perform creditworthiness assessments and recommend limits.

Profitability & Expense Control :

  • Maximize profitability through effective limit utilization.
  • Monitor revenue reports and seek margin improvements.
  • Coordinate with service teams to ensure quality customer service.

Activities / Operations :

  • Discuss credit packages with Credit teams and approvals.
  • Maintain close relationships with Credit Division / Administration.
  • Understand client needs and prepare proposals accordingly.
  • Review credit analysis with high-quality comments.

Compliance :

  • Follow bank policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Ensure adherence to regulations and facilitate audits.
  • Monitor for money laundering activities and coordinate responses.

Knowledge :

  • Strong understanding of financial and SME banking products and services.
  • Knowledge of market practices, demographics, and competitors.
  • Understanding of SME regulations and legal structures.
