Job summary

Majid Al Futtaim in the UAE seeks a Director Compliance - Retail to lead the Retail Compliance program across the group, reporting to Holding Compliance and the Retail CEO. You will oversee proactive compliance, investigations, and monitoring, aligning with policies and regulatory requirements.

You will partner with Legal, HR, Risk and Security to ensure governance, ethics and effective training; provide strategic advice to senior management and regulators as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12+ years of compliance experience, preferably in the Middle East / North Africa region.
• Fraud risk management experience desirable.
• Technical investigation experience on internal misconduct and regulator-led investigations such as sanctions and human rights.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to setting up and maintaining a robust compliance framework aligned with regulatory requirements and company policies.
• Liaise with investigations team for counts and corrective measures; support training and awareness.
• Support investigations and coordinate with Holding Investigations team for resources.
• Provide strategic advice to senior management on compliance risks and regulatory issues.
• Oversee compliance training, awareness, and reporting across Retail.
• Collaborate with Legal, HR, Risk and Security to ensure governance and ethics.
• Assist VP Compliance with documentary reporting to regulators, auditors and executives.
• Execute all Compliance activities across Retail Operations.

Director Compliance - Retail | MAF Retail | Head Office UAE

Role Summary

The Majid Al Futtaim (MAF) Retail Compliance department, reporting functionally to the MAF Holding Compliance department and administratively to the Retail CEO, has three mandates. The mandates are Proactive compliance, Investigations, and Compliance Monitoring, which includes Code of Conduct and all related policies, Whistleblowing, Third-party risk management, Supplier Code of Conduct, Conflict of interest and Fraud, Waste and Abuse, Human Rights risk management, Regulatory Compliance manageme

ROLE PROFILE

• Contribute to setting up and maintaining a robust compliance framework aligned with regulatory requirements and Company Policies.
• Liaise with the investigations team for investigative counts and identify corrective measures to either improve compliance monitoring or training and awareness.
• Supporting the investigations team during investigations and identifying key resources within the Retail Compliance team to perform investigations in coordination with the Holding Investigations team.
• Provide strategic advice to senior management on compliance risks and emerging regulatory issues.
• Oversee compliance training, awareness, and reporting across Retail.
• Collaborate with Legal, HR, Risk, and Security teams to ensure a consistent and coordinated approach to governance and ethics.
• Support VP Compliance with preparing documentary reporting to regulators, auditors, and executive committees as required in either dashboards, MS Word, or PowerPoint.
• Support the execution of all Compliance activities across Retail Operations

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in accounting, with a law qualification or demonstrated equivalent experience. Professional certificates for Compliance Management, Business Ethics and/or forensic investigations such as CCEP-I, or Certified Fraud Examiner.
• 12+ years of compliance experience, preferably within the Middle East and / or North Africa region, Supporting investigative knowledge an advantage.
• Fraud risk management
• Technical investigation experience on internal misconduct, external regulator-led investigations around sanctions, human rights, etc.
