Director – Business Support & Enterprise Management
This newly created role will support the COO and will play a key role in driving and implementing operational excellence, product enablement, and platform solutions across our private banking and investment management functions.
The role requires a comprehensive understanding of private banking and wealth management ecosystem, with a strong focus on business operations, technology transformation, governance, controls and product lifecycle management.
Tasks:
Strategic & Operational Leadership
- Support the COO in delivering wealth solutions & business support by aligning with business goals and client service standards,
- Drive scalability and efficiency through operational best practices and process reengineering.
- Liaise with counterparties - custodians, brokers, fund platforms, structured product desks
Business Support & Change Delivery
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to enhance client and front-office experience.
- Translate business needs into functional requirements and manage delivery through structured project governance.
- Maintain strong documentation, workflows, and SOPs across the product and operations ecosystem.
Product Enablement & Lifecycle Management
- Collaborate closely with product owners and segment heads to ensure platforms support timely deployment of new wealth products and services.
- Support ongoing administration of investment products including funds, notes, structured products, fiduciary deposits, etc.
- Work closely with Product, Legal, Compliance, and Operations to define and maintain product governance frameworks.
- Partner with internal technology teams to define, develop, and implement digital tools, front-office platforms, and core banking enhancements as per business requirements
- Lead system migrations, platform upgrades, and integration of CRM, PMS, and compliance tools into daily workflows and business processes.
Management Reponsibility:
- Responsible for distribution of tasks and responsibilities among employees under your supervision.
- Supervision of staff’s work and tasks, with accountability to ensure delivery of and compliance with tasks.
- Monitoring and observing work of employees, supervising all aspects of work and behaviour, ensuring tasks are carried out in compliance with guidelines set by regulatory bodies, including but not limited to the UAE Central Bank and the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA).
- Accountable for ensuring that employees under your supervision are appropriately qualified to carry out their jobs. Where applicable, this will include qualifications mandated by regulatory bodies (UAE CB, SCA etc) and other professional qualifications that may be required.
- Responsible for evaluating staff performance on a balance of criteria which includes achieving KPIs, measuring behaviours which will include, but are not limited to:
- adherence to Compliance rules, regulations and policies,
- carrying out financial activity and job duties in accordance with the conditions and controls under which EI Bank’s license was issued, considering the commercial norms and general principles of the licensed body,
- principles of the UAE Central Bank’s Consumer Protection Regulation.
- Overall responsibility for ensuring employees’ competence and appropriateness in line with the above, but also responsible for escalating and taking an appropriate course of action in case of non-compliance on the part of the employee.
- Key contributor to achieving EI Bank’s Emiratisation targets.
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related field
- Minimum of 15–20 years of relevant experience in private banking, investment management, or wealth operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership or COO-supporting role.
- Master’s degree in finance, operations, management
Professional certifications such as CFA, CISI, CAIA, PMP, or equivalent will be an advantage
Experience:
- Deep understanding of private banking, wealth management, and investment operations.
- Strong leadership and strategic execution skills with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
- Experience in transformation, product implementation within private banks or wealth platforms.
- Knowledge of regulatory environments in the UAE and internationally (e.g., CBUAE, SCA, CRM).
- Familiarity with banking and investment technology platforms (e.g., Avaloq, Temenos, Avaloq, Finacle, Bloomberg, Advent, or equivalent).
- Excellent stakeholder management, interpersonal, and communication skills.
