About the Role

We are seeking a strategic and technically strong Director of AI & Data to lead the development and implementation of advanced data and AI initiatives within the healthcare domain. This leader will oversee teams building scalable data platforms, AI / ML models, and decision intelligence tools that directly impact patient outcomes, public health KPIs, and care delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Define and execute the organization’s AI and data strategy in alignment with healthcare and digital transformation goals.
• Drive development of data architecture that supports interoperability (FHIR, HL7, CDA).
• Lead AI model development for real-world clinical, claims, and operational use cases.
• Oversee the design and optimization of data pipelines (Azure, Databricks, Spark).
• Ensure high-quality ingestion, transformation, and normalization of healthcare data.
• Collaborate with cloud and DevOps teams on secure and scalable deployment (AKS, Azure DevOps).
• Lead a team of data scientists and ML engineers to build predictive models and intelligent systems (e.g., early diagnosis, population health insights).
• Ensure responsible AI practices including fairness, interpretability, and compliance (HIPAA, GDPR).

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Partner with clinicians, product, and operations teams to translate domain problems into data science solutions.
• Act as a data evangelist across the organization and in external partnerships.

Qualifications

• Extensive years in data, AI, or analytics roles; at least 3 years in healthcare.
• Experience with healthcare data systems : EMRs, claims, HL7, FHIR, etc.
• Strong background in Azure data stack (Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks).
• Deep understanding of AI / ML lifecycle in production environments.
• Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
