As our Mid Level Digital Art Director, you will bring a strong editorial acumen and a keen eye for detail to develop compelling user-centered digital designs across multiple luxury titles such as Harper's Bazaar Arabia, Dazed MENA, Cosmopolitan, Grazia, ICON, Arabian Business, and more. This is an opportunity to push creative boundaries from conceptualizing bold social media campaigns to art direction for shootings and guiding the visual evolution of our platforms while ensuring every project stays true to each brand's distinct voice and high-end positioning.

You will work cross-functionally with editorial & white label teams, developers, and strategists to deliver immersive storytelling, innovative design solutions, and measurable results. Fostering a culture of professional growth, collaboration, and future-focused thinking. Above all, you will be charged with translating editorial content and strategic objectives into world-class digital experiences that resonate with discerning audiences.

Requirements

Creative Conceptualization (UX/UI & Editorial Design)

  • Develop innovative on-brand concepts for social media and digital campaigns that address both audience needs and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with copywriters, strategists, and other creative team members to bring cohesive campaign ideas to life.
  • Stay current with design trends, social media innovations, and cultural shifts to ensure all concepts remain fresh and culturally relevant.

Design & Execution

  • Oversee the creation of social media assets, static posts, animated graphics, videos, and interactive content ensuring each piece meets brand guidelines while pushing creative boundaries.
  • Produce storyboards, wireframes, and prototypes for new social content formats aiming for both aesthetic impact and user engagement.
  • Design responsive digital interfaces and assets (websites, mobile applications, email campaigns) that align with editorial standards and audience expectations.
  • Research and prepare supporting materials that inform new design approaches guaranteeing that every deliverable meets the highest aesthetic and functional criteria.

New Digital Products

  • Provide art direction for emerging digital platforms, websites, apps, and social activations merging user-centered design principles with editorial storytelling.
  • Embrace new technologies and creative tools (including generative AI) to keep the user experience forward-thinking and visually compelling.

Paid and Organic Digital Assets

  • Oversee the production of all digital assets, static layouts, animated visuals, and short-form videos while consistently elevating brand guidelines.
  • Innovate within project constraints infusing assets with fresh on-trend design approaches that maintain premium brand positioning.

Co-Branded & White-Label Projects

  • Lead the creative process for partner-driven campaigns crafting cohesive visual narratives that meet both client expectations and editorial standards.
  • Present design concepts articulating how each solution supports overarching business and brand goals.

Brand & Visual Consistency

  • Build and refine design systems that ensure a unified visual language across various touchpoints reflecting the luxury standards of our portfolio.
  • Collaborate closely with editorial leads to balance compelling storytelling with refined high-quality design.

Team Management

  • Share knowledge offering hands-on guidance and actionable feedback to help them hone their digital craft and embrace new design challenges.
  • Coordinate with project managers to allocate resources effectively maintaining top-tier creative output within tight timelines.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 4-5 years in digital art direction or a related creative role ideally within a premium publishing or agency setting.

  • Editorial Expertise: Demonstrable ability to merge editorial insights with immersive design concepts that elevate narrative depth.

  • Technical & Design Skills:

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and collaborative design software (Figma).
  • Familiarity with HTML/CSS or frontend workflows is advantageous.
  • Basic motion or animation skills (e.g. After Effects, Premiere Pro, Blender) are a wonderful plus.
  • User-Centered Focus: Track record of creating designs rooted in UX/UI best practices incorporating accessibility and mobile-first principles.

  • Leadership & Communication: Experience guiding junior designers, conducting client presentations, and clearly articulating creative rationale.

  • Innovation: Enthusiasm for emerging technologies (AI, prototyping tools) and a willingness to experiment with cutting-edge design solutions.

Preferred Experience

  • Co-Branded & White-Label Work: Background in high-profile client collaborations shaping cohesive visuals that respect both partner brands and our editorial DNA.

  • Project Management: Comfortable juggling multiple timelines, prioritizing tasks, and optimizing resources in fast-paced creative environments.

  • Client Relations: Proven success presenting concepts, aligning clients on design direction, and delivering creative solutions that exceed expectations.

Education

  • A degree in Graphic Design, Multimedia Arts, Visual Communication, or a related discipline or equivalent professional experience.

  • A robust portfolio showcasing your ability to blend editorial storytelling with cutting-edge digital design.
