Job description

The Dialysis Technician is responsible for operating dialysis machines and supporting nephrology care for patients with kidney failure. The technician ensures equipment is functioning properly, assists in preparing patients for dialysis treatment, monitors patient responses, and maintains strict hygiene and safety standards. This position is vital to delivering quality patient care in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and operate dialysis machines and related equipment.

Monitor patients before, during, and after dialysis sessions.

Set up and maintain sterile environments to prevent infections.

Check and record vital signs and patient symptoms.

Ensure equipment calibration and troubleshooting when needed.

Assist nurses and physicians during treatment procedures.

Educate patients about dialysis procedures and aftercare.

Maintain accurate records and documentation of treatments.

Adhere to infection control protocols and clinical safety guidelines.

Clean and disinfect dialysis equipment post-treatment.

Requirements:

Diploma or certification in Dialysis Technology or related healthcare field.

2+ years of experience in dialysis care or clinical technician role.

In-depth knowledge of hemodialysis procedures and equipment.

Basic life support (BLS) certification.

Attention to detail and excellent observation skills.

Compassionate and patient-centered approach.

Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.

Willingness to work shifts and weekends.
