Qualifications

Tyneside Swim Club in Dubai is seeking a dedicated Development Coach to join our passionate and dynamic coaching team. This role is key to shaping young swimmers into future performance athletes while nurturing a love for competitive swimming.

Key Responsibilities

Coaching and Development:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality sessions for the Skills and Junior Development squads.
  • Support swimmer progression with technical, skill-focused training aligned with the Club’s philosophy.
  • Provide support to school squads when required.
  • Encourage competition participation and provide guidance on race selection.
  • Identify and recruit talent into development squads.

Performance Pathway Support:

  • Provide support to the Head Coach with performance-level squads.
  • Assist in transitioning swimmers from development to performance levels.

Administrative Duties:

  • Maintain accurate records of swimmer attendance and progression.
  • Support competition planning, entries, and communications.
  • Assist in onboarding new swimmers and supporting inductions.

Community Engagement:

  • Represent the Club professionally at meets and events.
  • Deliver swimming clinics in local schools and support inter-school competitions.
  • Promote the Club within the community.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Swim England Swimming Coach Certificate/UKCC Level 2 Coaching in Aquatics (or equivalent).
  • Lifeguard qualification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Experience coaching young swimmers at Learn to Train/Train to Train stages.
  • Proven ability to progress age-group swimmers into higher-level squads.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
  • Understanding of stroke mechanics and modern coaching methods.
  • Flexible to work evenings and weekends.
