Job summary

Supabase is expanding its engineering platform team in Dubai, seeking a senior engineer to drive developer productivity and platform initiatives. You will optimize local development environments, improve IDE tooling and scaffolding, and advance CI/CD efficiency while evaluating AI coding assistants and tracking productivity metrics.

You will collaborate with globally distributed teams, contribute to monorepo tooling, and help design golden-path workflows to accelerate product delivery.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience focusing on developer productivity, infrastructure, or platform engineering.
• Proficiency in Go, TypeScript, Python, Rust, and shell.
• Experience with CI/CD systems (e.g., GitHub Actions, ArgoCD).
• Experience with local development reproducibility (e.g., devcontainers, Nix, Docker).
• Experience with monorepo tooling and build systems (e.g., pnpm, Nx, Turborepo, Bazel).
• Experience with test infrastructure and orchestration.
• Ability to work effectively in async, globally distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Improve local development environments and daily workflows to ensure reproducibility and self-service onboarding.
• Enhance the daily editing experience through IDE tooling, extensions, and fast code search/indexing.
• Build paved roads including project scaffolding, templates, and golden-path workflows.
• Optimize CI/CD pipelines, build performance, and test orchestration to reduce cycle times.
• Integrate and evaluate AI coding agents and assistants to improve developer leverage.
• Track engineering productivity metrics like DORA and code-quality signals to drive improvements.
