What You'll Do:
Job Purpose:
To provide first-level support to end-users for accessing business applications, helping them achieve their business targets.
IT Strategy
Provide IT desktop support to achieve the company’s business objectives.
IT Support
Assist end-users with the installation, configuration, and usability of desktops, laptops, printers, MFPs, photocopy machines, fax machines, and peripherals.
Ensure proper access to business applications such as VIBS, CPN, PPN, and email systems.
Provide LAN/WAN access where applicable.
Maintain end-user data on the file server with appropriate access controls.
Maintain LAN/WAN passive components, including desktops and networking racks in MDF and IDFs.
Offer first-level voice communication support.
Manage Internet access, ensuring users can access only whitelisted sites.
Monitor desktop performance and suggest upgrades; manage desktop inventory via LanDesk.
Transfer daily backup tapes to off-site locations.
IT Security
Maintain desktop security using endpoint protection tools like Symantec to prevent viruses, malware, and unauthorized access.
Control external ports to prevent unauthorized application installations.
Keep Windows security patches up to date across all desktops.
Implement routine security measures to mitigate threats.
Operational
Perform support duties aligned with operational objectives.
Use case management tools to respond to issues promptly.
Regularly check desktops for updates, security patches, and LanDesk agent status.
Personal Development
Develop and maintain technical skills through a personal development plan.
Participate in annual appraisals as per company policy.
Education/Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related fields.
Microsoft certification is an added advantage.
Experience
3-4 years of troubleshooting desktops, printers, MFPs, and peripherals.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft products, including MS Office, Windows XP, Exchange Server, and Server 2008.
Experience with administrative tools, Active Directory, Windows Server 2008, Windows XP, Exchange 2010, DNS, DHCP, Ethernet, and TCP/IP networking.
