Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality Design Technology and Engineering lessons that inspire students and support strong learning outcomes.
• Demonstrate a clear understanding of the curriculum and implement it effectively to match expected learning outcomes.
• Teach using appropriate syllabus content, materials, schemes of work, and practical learning resources.
• Develop students' engineering thinking, design skills, technical confidence, creativity, and problem‑solving ability.
• Organise classroom provision, learning resources, displays, and practical materials to create an engaging learning environment.
• Plan, prepare, and present lessons that meet the needs of students across the full ability range.
• Plan long‑term, medium‑term, and short‑term lesson sequences that support individual learning needs.
• Create a classroom climate that supports outstanding practice, active participation, and positive student engagement.
• Motivate students through enjoyable, creative, challenging, and practical lessons.
• Promote critical thinking, independent learning, collaboration, and technical curiosity.
• Identify clear teaching and learning objectives and monitor student achievement against them.

• Manage classes effectively using approaches that inspire, motivate, and challenge students.

Ideal Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Design Technology, Engineering, Technology Education, or a related subject.
• PGCE or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Minimum 2 years of experience working in a similar teaching role.
• Mandatory experience working in an international school.
• Previous experience working with EAL students or students for whom English is not their first language.
• Strong understanding of curriculum planning, practical learning, assessment, differentiation, and classroom management.
• Ability to teach engineering‑focused design technology through creative, technical, and inquiry‑based learning.
