Design Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Design Manager to join our team at an Interior Design and Build company. As a Design Manager, you will be responsible for leading the design team, developing design concepts, coordinating with other departments, communicating with clients, managing project budgets, ensuring quality control, conducting research, mentoring team members, and building relationships with suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders in the design and construction industry.

The ideal candidate for this position will have a degree in interior design or a related field and at least 8 years of experience working in the design industry, with a focus on project management and team leadership. Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills are essential for this role, as is the ability to work collaboratively with other departments and stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Leading the design team: You will be responsible for leading a team of designers and ensuring that they are working effectively and efficiently to meet project deadlines and objectives.
2. Developing design concepts: You will be responsible for developing design concepts that meet the client's requirements and expectations. This will involve creating sketches, 3D models, and design presentations.
3. Coordinating with other departments: You will work closely with other departments, such as construction and project management, to ensure that the design is integrated into the construction process smoothly.
4. Communicating with clients: You will work closely with clients to understand their needs, present design concepts, and provide updates on the progress of the project.
5. Managing project budgets: You will be responsible for managing project budgets, ensuring that the design is delivered within budget constraints.
6. Ensuring quality control: You will be responsible for ensuring that the design meets the company's quality standards and that it is delivered to the client's satisfaction.
7. Conducting research: You will be responsible for conducting research on new materials, design trends, and technologies that can be used to enhance the company's design offerings.
8. Mentoring team members: You will be responsible for mentoring and developing your team members, providing feedback on their performance, and identifying opportunities for growth.
9. Building relationships: You will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders in the design and construction industry.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Degree in interior design or a related field.
2. At least 8 years of experience in the design industry, with a focus on project management and team leadership.
3. Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
4. Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and stakeholders.
5. Familiarity with design software such as SketchUp, AutoCAD, and Revit.
6. Strong knowledge of design principles, materials, and construction techniques.
7. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
