About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead our design team at the head office. In this role, you will manage a multidisciplinary team that includes architects, interior designers, BIM architects, electrical engineers, and mechanical engineers. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio of experience in managing design teams across healthcare, commercial, residential, and industrial projects, with at least 15 years of experience.

As Design Manager, you will ensure that all design projects meet the highest standards of quality, functionality, and compliance with industry regulations. You will report to senior management, providing regular updates and reports on the status of current projects, timelines, and design progress.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a multidisciplinary design team, including architects, interior designers, BIM architects, electrical engineers, and mechanical engineers, ensuring high-quality project outcomes.
  • Oversee the design process for a variety of projects, ensuring that designs align with client requirements, project specifications, and regulatory standards across healthcare, commercial, residential, and industrial sectors.
  • Collaborate with senior management and other project stakeholders to define project objectives, budgets, and timelines.
  • Review and approve design documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, building codes, and industry standards.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and leadership to the design team, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
  • Prepare and present regular reports and status updates to senior management on the design process, progress, and challenges.
  • Ensure the seamless integration of various design disciplines, ensuring coordination between architecture, interiors, engineering systems, and BIM.
  • Manage the coordination of design teams, both in-house and with external consultants, to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Monitor and manage the design budget, resources, and timeline to ensure timely delivery and effective resolution of any challenges that arise.
  • Develop strategies for continuous improvement in design processes, quality control, and project delivery.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in design management across healthcare, commercial, residential, and industrial sectors.
  • Proven leadership experience in managing a multidisciplinary design team, including architects, engineers, and designers.
  • Strong knowledge of design principles, building codes, and regulations, with experience in both healthcare and non-healthcare sectors.
  • In-depth understanding of integrating architecture, interiors, mechanical, electrical, and BIM into cohesive project solutions.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
  • Strong experience in project management, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Proficiency in design and BIM software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, MS Project, SketchUp).
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Architecture, Design, Engineering, or a related field.
  • LEED accreditation or similar sustainability certifications is a plus.
