Job summary

A leading engineering firm in the UAE seeks a Design Engineer specializing in Water/Wastewater projects. The role involves engineering design, preparing computations, and developing hydraulic models while ensuring compliance with local regulations. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in an engineering field and relevant experience in Wet Utilities projects, preferably in the GCC.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Wet Utilities projects.
  • Experience in GCC countries is preferred.
  • Familiarity with British and American codes, DEWA / DM regulations.

Job Description:

Design Engineer - Water/Wastewater

Dubai

Parsons is seeking a talented Design Engineer - Water/Wastewater to join our team. In this role, you will handle various engineering design assignments related to water and wastewater projects.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Perform engineering and design assignments applying principles learned in a four-year university engineering program, utilizing data in civil engineering.
  • Assist in preparing engineering computations, material quantity estimates, surveys, and designs. Help prepare requisitions for materials, services, and subcontracts.
  • Provide input to CAD Designers/Drafters and carry out CAD tasks using 3D software and model creation.
  • Perform other responsibilities as appropriate.
  • Independently design collection, conveyance, and disposal systems for wastewater networks.
  • Develop hydraulic models for gravity networks, design reports, and use Bentley SewerCAD / SewerGems, Infoworks CS.
  • Be familiar with British and American codes, as well as DEWA / DM regulations for wastewater system design.
  • Experience liaising with service providers for NOCs and design approvals is advantageous.
What Skills You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Hydraulics, Water, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Wet Utilities projects like potable water, wastewater, and sewerage networks, preferably within GCC countries.
  • Skilled in BIM application.
  • Ability to work in a Common Data Environment (CDE).
  • Knowledge of sewerage, potable water, and irrigation network design.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Navisworks, Bentley WaterCAD / WaterGems / OpenUtilities, or related software.
  • Strong English speaking and writing skills.
