Design Engineer - Hydraulics — Abu Dhabi

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Design Engineer (Hydraulics) to join our team. In this role you will be involved in prestigious projects.

Responsibilities

• Design wet utility systems, including potable water networks, sewer systems, and stormwater drainage systems.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, layouts, and schematics using CAD software.
• Develop hydraulic models to analyze and optimize system performance.
• Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments to determine project requirements.
• Perform calculations for pipe sizing, flow rates, pressure losses, and system capacities.
• Evaluate environmental and topographical data to ensure proper system integration.
• Prepare technical reports, design specifications, and bill of quantities (BOQ).
• Ensure all designs comply with local regulations, codes, and standards.
• Maintain accurate records of design changes and project documentation.
• Work closely with architects, urban planners, and other engineering disciplines to integrate wet utility systems into broader infrastructure projects.
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities to ensure smooth project execution.
• Identify and resolve design challenges or site-specific issues during the design and construction phases.
• Provide technical support during construction, including reviewing shop drawings and responding to RFIs (Requests for Information).
• Ensure designs meet environmental sustainability goals and adhere to water conservation principles.
• Stay updated on advancements in wet utility technologies and industry best practices.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in wet utility design or infrastructure projects.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D)
  • Experience with hydraulic modeling tools (e.g., EPANET, SewerGEMS, StormCAD, or InfoWorks)
  • Strong understanding of water distribution, sewerage, and stormwater management systems
  • Familiarity with GIS software for utility mapping is a plus
• Soft Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
• Certifications (Optional): Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is an advantage.
