Design Engineer

Review with Sales In charge/ Workshop Manager for technical specification/ inquiry received from clients. Maintain registry of drawings & part number assigned to products at WOMME. Prepare quotation drawing and Bill of material and review as per customer provided layout and requirement. Collaborate with WOM Engineering staff to produce sketches, 3D Models, and CAD drawings in accordance with applicable standards. Maintain all WOMME drawings, registry, drawing library, and standard part number chart. Provide 3D model and isometric view of complete assembled manifolds and piping layout include skid platforms for client presentation and other manufacturing components to clearly visualize in detail. To make the NCR disposition. Responsible for reviewing controlling and maintaining the design packages for API products received from WOM Inc. Liase with WOM Eng. Dept. for design packages, drawings, clarifications engineering change notices & technical queries as per customer requirements. Prepare fabrication drawings based on different types of structural skids such as manifold transportation skid and permanent/ heavy duty skids. Maintain and Issue control drawings for production. Review drawings and other technical documentation received from external sources or WOM Eng Dept. to ensure correctness, compliance to applicable standards/ requirements and accuracy in form, fit and function Prepare manufacturing drawings based on API standard or existing WOMME design drawings. Attend contract review meeting and review requirements.

• Develop innovative design solutions by applying engineering principles and creative thinking to meet project specifications and client needs.
• Utilize CAD software to create detailed 2D and 3D models, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost analyses to assess the practicality of design concepts and recommend improvements.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing and marketing, to ensure designs are viable and marketable.
• Prepare and present design proposals to stakeholders, effectively communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Perform rigorous testing and validation of prototypes, documenting results and iterating designs based on feedback.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, materials, and technologies to incorporate the latest advancements into design processes.
• Implement design changes based on regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
• Manage project timelines and budgets, ensuring deliverables meet quality expectations without exceeding costs.
• Mentor junior engineers and interns, sharing expertise and fostering a collaborative learning environment.

Desired Candidate Profile

A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Experience in creating 3D models and generate drawings. Diploma/ Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, with a focus on design principles and methodologies.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in a design engineer role, preferably within the manufacturing sector.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CATIA, demonstrating the ability to create complex designs.
• Strong understanding of materials science and engineering principles to select appropriate materials for projects.
• Experience with project management tools and methodologies, showcasing the ability to manage timelines and resources effectively.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with a track record of innovative solutions to design challenges.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to articulate design concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also demonstrating independence and initiative.
• Fluency in English is required; additional languages are a plus to enhance communication in global projects.
• A certification such as Professional Engineer (PE) or Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE) is highly desirable.
