Job summary

ai71 seeks a Design Director to lead and ship weekly design surfaces for Ask, working in a small design team while owning the work end-to-end in Abu Dhabi-based offices. This player-coach role blends hands-on design with team leadership and brand stewardship.

You will push design with AI, prototype in working code, and set high standards for UX across on-prem and sovereign-cloud environments, including RTL interfaces and multilingual needs.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in design.
• Led design teams at strong product companies.
• Hands-on designer who still ships work.
• Experienced with AI design tools and coding agents.
• Brand experience and enterprise/regulatory design.

Responsibilities

• Design weekly surfaces for Ask.
• Own surfaces and ship with the team.
• Raise the craft and lead critiques.
• Push design with AI and working-code prototypes.
• Own ai71’s look and brand across products and website.
• Hire and manage a brand designer; partner with Product Marketing.
• Coach senior designers and grow design careers.
• Design for on-prem, sovereign clouds, RTL and multilingual interfaces.
