A leading bank in the UAE seeks a Derivatives Operations Analyst to oversee the accurate processing and settlement of derivative transactions. The role involves validating trades, managing lifecycle events, and collaborating with various financial teams to maintain operational integrity.
Job Overview
The Derivatives Operations Analyst - Abu Dhabi UAE ensures that all derivative transactions executed by the Global Markets team are properly captured, matched, and settled on time. This includes handling complex life-cycle events, ensuring data integrity, resolving reconciliation breaks, and working across systems to maintain operational accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
* Validate and match all derivative trades executed by the Global Markets team
* Process confirmations and ensure timely settlement of trades across OTC and listed derivatives
* Monitor and resolve reconciliation breaks and escalate issues when needed
* Capture and instruct life cycle events such as resets, rate changes, terminations, and novations
* Ensure accurate booking of transactions in internal systems and communicate with counterparties as needed
* Handle a wide range of derivatives including IRS, CCS, FX Options, TARF, TARN, Commodity Swaps, Credit Default Swaps, Equity Options, and Private Equity structures
* Collaborate with traders, risk, compliance, and settlement teams to ensure seamless operations
* Maintain audit-ready records and adhere to internal control standards
* Monitor operational risk indicators and assist in implementing process improvements
* Support regulatory and management reporting related to derivative transactions
Job Requirements
* Bachelor s degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related discipline
* Minimum 5 years of experience in banking operations, with at least 2 years in derivatives processing
* Solid understanding of OTC and exchange-traded derivative products
* Familiarity with life cycle events and trade flow from execution to settlement
* Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and reconciliation skills
* Effective communication skills and ability to coordinate across teams
* Experience using trade and settlement platforms is preferred
