Primary Duties
- Support the Planning Manager to drive forward both organisations’ key priorities for Planning through effective management of resources and by ensuring that opportunities for improving the service are maximized.
- Develop systems and procedures for planning functions on the onset of the project and as and when there are additional requirements from the client in order to facilitate the monitoring of construction & commissioning.
- Finalize the staffing requirements of planning engineers in consultation with the Planning Manager.
- Develop, implement & maintain planning deliverables such as construction schedules, resource histograms, reporting systems, commodity database, material control systems, etc. Provide guidance to the project control team working at HO/site for the project.
- Prepare detailed progress measurement systems for construction commodities and progress curves. This will also help in determining resource requirements and preparing manpower histograms.
- Monitor progress of the construction work for timely execution of the project through daily/weekly/monthly reports, review overall project progress, and resolve any problems, bottlenecks, or scheduling conflicts.
- Review the status continuously and keep the Construction Manager informed of progress and areas needing attention for schedule adherence.
- Provide direction to the sub-contractor planning team in formulating the overall execution plan to ensure project completion.
- Coordinate closely with sub-contractors to implement work schedules and monitor progress for timely project execution.
- Work in close coordination with the Area Coordinator to ensure work progresses as per schedule and overall project priorities.
- Participate in review meetings with clients and sub-contractors.
- Identify trends and alert management of critical activities.
- Participate in departmental development activities for continual improvement in the planning system and services.
- Perform any other duties as directed by the Planning Manager or PCM of the project.
Minimum Requirements
Graduate engineer with approximately 15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, familiar with project execution. Experience in HO & Site planning.
