Deputy Head of Industries - Manufacturing (Aluminium, Joinery, Metal, Steel, Marble Factory Experienced) at least 3 factories experienced

The manufacturing function will cover some or all of the following definition within its business: Uses various processes and methods to transform raw materials, components and parts into finished goods for customers to required standards of quality, cost, delivery and safety.

Strategic and tactical responsibility for implementing manufacturing strategy and strategic operational goals to exceed customer expectations for product quality, cost and delivery, maximizing efficiency, optimising production levels and driving operational excellence. Work closely with internal and external key stakeholders, regarding technical support for activities, striving for best in class products and business practices to deliver to the customer’s expectations, managing teams and projects across the business

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy and Development:

1. Overall responsibility for Manufacturing activities across the business
2. Create and implement best practice manufacturing vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve business performance
3. Ensure that manufacturing strategies and processes are in place to meet business objectives and operational needs in terms of price, quality and delivery targets and which enables the company to function and compete effectively in the market
4. Evaluate the challenges faced by the business and take action to mitigate risks and develop opportunities Contribute to overall business strategy and annual budget process.
5. Take ownership of the manufacturing policy, guidelines and any associated documents
6. Initiate and develop creative and innovative manufacturing processes

Financial and Budget Management:

1. Input and hold responsibility for manufacturing budgets
2. Prepare the annual Manufacturing budget and forecasts and all Capital Expenditure proposals as well as ensuring compliance with legal standards. Manage the budget from identification to completion of projects

Qualifications and Experience Levels:

1. Educated to degree level (preferably Masters) in a relevant engineering /manufacturing discipline
2. Preferably a Fellow or Chartered Member of an industry related Professional Body
3. Demonstrable experience of leading a manufacturing function with a proven track record in strategic manufacturing leadership delivering effective manufacturing strategies, policies, processes and systems
4. Ability to add value, reduce costs and make business improvements
5. Proven project management and build quality experience
6. Experience of operating and influencing at a strategic level
7. Knowledge and technical understanding of automotive processes
