As a fast-growing global business and the official media partner for the dmg events energy portfolio, Energy Connects delivers in-depth thought leadership by and exclusive conversations with Ministers, CEOs, and energy leaders, industry-leading columns and analysis, and unparalleled access to decision makers across the entire energy value chain.

With a legacy spanning three decades in media and energy events, Energy Connects stands out in the global energy media landscape due to its credible, unbiased and innovative coverage of the industry.

The ideal candidate will not only embody these editorial values but also thrive in fast-paced environments with an exceptional ability to work on simultaneous projects with meticulous attention to detail, and be a proactive learner and problem-solver in high-pressure situations.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Produce a wide range of class-leading content, including breaking news, explainers, features, and data-driven interactive infographics.

• Record and produce video interviews, video explainers and podcasts as part of the editorial coverage.

• Help drive our editorial coverage and keep track of the latest developments and important news across the industry on a daily basis.

• Edit, proofread and fact-check editorial content, special reports and marketing collaterals as per our editorial guidelines and brand requirements.

• Ensure adherence to the editorial standards and legal guidelines for Energy Connects at all times.

• Plan, manage and help produce the content for event-specific publications such as show previews, dailies, and special reports.

• Manage the production of event-specific publications and special projects as assigned and required.

• Assist with the overall production and execution of the Energy Connects Editorial strategy and calendar across digital, social, print and energy events.

• Suggest and execute editorial ideas aligned with the Energy Connects brand vision and strategy that keep our audience, clients, and stakeholders at the forefront of the evolving industry.

• Manage the daily functions of the Editorial team under the supervision of the Editor-in-Chief during the Editor’s absence.

• Work closely with the rest of the editorial team to make sure assignments, deadlines and goals are aligned, and maintain a strong working relationship with the commercial team.

• Work cross-functionally with the marketing teams as well as counterparts across the business to ensure proper and timely delivery and marketing of editorial projects.

• Help maintain a global editorial calendar across all platforms and business streams.

• Be an effective and influential brand ambassador for Energy Connects to establish and strengthen our relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and businesses across the energy industry.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS:

• At least 3-5 years of multi-platform journalism. Experience in the energy sector is a plus.

• Experience handling print magazines, digital content and live publications, including digital production platforms and content management systems (CMS).

• Familiarity with energy sub-segments including oil & gas, renewables, new energies, shipping and petrochemicals as well as energy geopolitics and geoeconomics is strongly preferred.

• A formal training/background in business journalism is strongly preferred.

• Proven track record of producing flawless editorial content – strong writing and publishing skills across print, digital and social media following the highest standard of accuracy and attention to detail.

• An eye for creative and brand-driven editorial design across print and digital platforms.

• Exceptional ability to deliver multiple projects under strict and often overlapping deadlines.

• Resourceful problem solver and a fast learner to keep pace with the constantly-evolving energy industry.

• Excellent grasp and understanding of digital and social traffic, SEO analytics and data best practices.

• Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise accordingly.

• Flexible with time and travel commitments as required by the business, and ability to maintain a professional approach at all times.
