Aspen Medical seeks a qualified Dentist to provide diagnostic, preventive, and therapeutic dental services within the UNSOS operational area. The role emphasizes patient safety, clinical governance, and adherence to evidence-based guidelines. The Dentist will provide diagnostic, preventive, and therapeutic dental services to improve oral health for individuals in the UNSOS operational area.
This role emphasizes clinical governance, ensuring patient safety, contributing to continuous quality improvement, and adhering to evidence-based contemporary guidelines.
A degree in Dentistry with a minimum of 3 years progressive post- qualification clinical experience.
Currently registered and licensed to practice medicine and apply specialty without supervision in own country or another UN member state.
English proficiency- a minimum of Level B 2 is required.
Experience in international, humanitarian, or conflict-zone healthcare settings.
Certification in advanced dental procedures, such as oral surgery or orthodontics, is a plus.
Ability to work under pressure in a high-demand environment, while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide patient education and work effectively with diverse populations.
Fluency in English; additional language skills are an advantage.
Shifts: Flexible working hours, with the expectation to work weekends, holidays, and night shifts when required 24/7.
Strong organizational and time-management skills to manage patient care efficiently.
Provide comprehensive dental care, including diagnostic services, preventive treatments (e.g., cleanings, fluoride treatments), restorative procedures (e.g., fillings, crowns), and oral health education
Develop individualized treatment plans based on thorough patient assessments, considering medical history and current health conditions.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date dental records, ensuring patient confidentiality and compliance with UNSOS policies and legal regulations.
Ensure proper documentation of clinical procedures and treatments and participate in case reviews and audits to monitor and improve service quality.
Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure integrated care, particularly when managing oral health conditions related to other systemic diseases.
Participate in clinical audits, case discussions, and peer reviews to contribute to the overall clinical governance and improve service delivery.
Provide safe and effective dental treatments, ensuring that infection control protocols and standards of practice are rigorously followed to protect both patients and staff.
Monitor and ensure the safety of dental materials, equipment, and tools, ensuring they are properly sterilized, maintained, and calibrated.
Provide emergency dental care in the event of trauma, pain, or complications, adhering to established emergency procedures and protocols.
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene, preventive care, and the importance of regular dental check-ups to promote long-term oral health.
Ensure the safe and proper administration of local anesthesia and other dental procedures, monitoring patients for any adverse reactions or complications.
Take appropriate action to ensure patient safety, such as referring patients with complex or severe dental issues to specialists when needed.
Participate in the ongoing development and implementation of continuous quality improvement (CQI) initiatives to enhance the delivery of dental services.
Regularly review patient feedback, clinical outcomes, and performance data to identify opportunities for improvement in service delivery.
Assist in the development of dental care protocols, ensuring they reflect current evidence-based practices and international standards.
Engage in professional development, workshops, and training sessions to stay up to date on the latest dental technologies, treatments, and evidence-based practices.
Provide feedback and suggestions for improving dental services, based on both patient care experiences and clinical audits.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to share knowledge and best practices and contribute to the broader improvement of health services at UNSOS.
Ensure that all dental treatments, preventive measures, and patient care follow evidence-based guidelines and contemporary best practices in dentistry.
Stay informed about the latest dental research and integrate new findings into clinical practice, ensuring treatments are aligned with up-to-date, effective methods.
Apply evidence-based protocols for the management of dental diseases, including periodontists, dental caries, and oral infections.
Follow internationally recognized guidelines for infection control, patient care, and clinical procedures, including those set by organizations like the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Regularly review and update treatment protocols and patient care guidelines to ensure compliance with the latest scientific evidence and regulatory standards.
Provide preventive education to patients about oral hygiene, dietary habits, and other lifestyle factors that contribute to oral health.
Promote ethical behavior and alignment with Aspen Medical s Social Purpose and B Corp principles.
Perform any additional tasks and responsibilities as required by the role or organization.
