Job summary

SO/ Uptown Dubai is seeking a Demi Chef de Partie - Pastry to join its culinary team in Dubai. Assist the Pastry Chef in preparing a wide range of pastries, desserts, and baked goods while maintaining brand standards and presentation.

You will follow recipes, ensure food safety, mentor junior staff, participate in menu development, and adapt offerings for dietary restrictions, contributing to the department's high-quality pastry program in a fast-paced luxury hotel setting.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Pastry Cook or in a similar role within a professional kitchen.
• Strong knowledge of pastry preparation techniques, baking methods, and dessert presentation.
• Proficiency in using various pastry equipment and tools.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Creative mindset with a keen eye for detail and presentation.
• Knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards.
• Understanding of various dietary restrictions and food allergies.
• Familiarity with international pastry trends and techniques.
• Culinary degree or diploma with a focus on pastry arts is preferred.
• Current food safety certification.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Strong communication skills in English; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
• Adaptability to work in a multicultural environment, typical of Dubai's hospitality industry.
