Job summary

SO/ Uptown Dubai is seeking a Demi Chef de Partie - Pastry to join its luxury pastry team in Dubai. You will assist the Pastry Chef in creating exquisite pastries and desserts that reflect international culinary trends and elevate guest experiences.

You will follow recipes precisely, maintain high quality and safety standards, train junior staff, participate in menu development, and adapt recipes for dietary restrictions.

Qualifications

• Proven pastry cook experience or similar role.
• Strong pastry techniques, baking methods and dessert presentation.
• Familiarity with international pastry trends.
• Culinary degree or pastry-focused diploma preferred.
• Current food safety certification.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment.
• Knowledge of dietary restrictions and allergies.
• Excellent time management and organization.
• Fluent in English; additional languages a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist Pastry Chef in preparing a wide range of pastries, desserts, and baked goods.
• Follow recipes accurately while maintaining consistency and quality standards.
• Collaborate with the pastry team to develop new dessert concepts.
• Ensure proper storage, handling, and rotation of ingredients and finished products.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards.
• Assist in inventory management and ordering of pastry supplies.
• Train and mentor junior pastry staff members.
• Participate in menu planning and development meetings.
• Adapt recipes to accommodate various dietary restrictions and allergies.
• Contribute to the overall success of the pastry department by maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
