About the Job:

An opportunity has arisen for a Demi Chef De Partie to join the Culinary departmentinJumeirah Saadiyat Island. The main duties and responsibilities of this role are:

  • Assist in the preparation and assembly of a variety of sushi including nigiri, sashimi, maki rolls, and other Japanese specialties.
  • Ensure all sushi ingredients, such as fish and vegetables, are fresh and stored correctly.
  • Maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control following the chef’s recipes and standards.
  • Support the Chef de Partie in managing the sushi station during service hours.
  • Monitor and maintain stock levels, including ordering and receiving supplies as required.
  • Uphold cleanliness and hygiene standards, ensuring the sushi station is always sanitized.
  • Follow food safety guidelines strictly to avoid contamination and ensure customer safety.
  • Collaborate with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth and efficient service.
  • Contribute to menu development by suggesting new sushi dishes and ideas.
  • Train junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and standards.

About you:

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the kitchen.
