Job Requirements:

  • To be fully aware of all menu items, their recipes, methods of production, and presentation standards.
  • Carry out close liaison with all sections of the kitchen to ensure smooth and efficient service.
  • Assume duties of chef de partie in their absence.
  • Demonstrate initiative at all times.
  • Lead and support junior team members.
  • Strong desire to improve skills and knowledge.
  • Ability to produce work in accordance with deadlines.
  • Seek solutions to minor obstacles independently.
  • Maintain a pleasant and positive professional image at all times.
  • Collect and report daily data/issues as they arise.
  • Review daily production sheets with the chef de partie or sous chef when the first is not present.
  • Prepare and delegate food production tasks to ensure timely guest service.
  • Participate in training junior culinary staff and apprentices.
  • Adhere to standardized recipes and specifications for consistency and standards.
  • Keep work stations clean and organized.
  • Ensure station opening and closing procedures are followed.
  • Minimize over-production and food waste; ensure proper storage and labeling.
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and responsibly.
  • Handle, store, prepare, and serve food safely per hotel and government guidelines.
  • Report equipment issues and food quality deficiencies promptly.
  • Run the section confidently and with urgency.

Specific Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Proficiency in written and spoken English.

Education:

Postgraduate and basic Apprenticeship.

Experience:

Minimum 1-2 years in a similar role within a high-volume, internationally recognized luxury hotel or F&B establishment.
