Job summary

Grand Hyatt Deer Valley in Park City, UT, is seeking a Demi Chef de Partie for Italian cuisine to uphold luxury dining standards. You will assist with daily kitchen operations, maintain mise en place, and ensure quality and safety.

You will train juniors, collaborate across sections, contribute to menu trials, and support senior chefs. A Diploma in Culinary Arts or related field and 2–3 years of Italian cooking experience are required.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Culinary Arts or a related culinary discipline.
• 2–3 years of relevant culinary experience, including hands-on exposure to Italian cuisine.
• Strong knowledge of traditional and contemporary Italian ingredients, recipes, and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present authentic Italian dishes in accordance with approved recipes and presentation standards.
• Support the Chef de Partie in managing the assigned section and ensuring smooth, timely service.
• Complete daily mise en place and ensure ingredients are prepared, labeled, stored and ready for service.
• Demonstrate knowledge of Italian ingredients and cooking techniques, including pasta, risotto, sauces, antipasti, meat, seafood, and vegetables.
• Maintain consistency in flavour, texture, and presentation of dishes served.
• Assist in monitoring stock levels, controlling portions, and minimizing waste for cost control.
• Coordinate with kitchen sections and service team to ensure accurate and timely orders.
• Accommodate dietary requirements and guest requests following procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic workstation; follow HACCP and hygiene standards.
• Support training and guidance of Commis Chefs and junior colleagues.
• Assist with menu trials, seasonal promotions, and development of new Italian dishes.
