Job summary

InterContinental Fujairah Resort is seeking a Demi Chef de Partie - Baker to assist the Chef de Partie in preparing, baking, and presenting breads, pastries, and desserts for hotel outlets and events.

The role requires creativity, attention to detail, and a passion for baking to deliver high-quality products in line with the hotel’s standards. You will support the kitchen team to maintain efficient operations and uphold food safety.

Qualifications

• Degree or certificate in culinary arts or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a chef or in a bakery/kitchen role.
• Strong technical skills in bread, pastries, cakes and other baked goods.
• Knowledge of international culinary practices and menu offerings.
• Good level of written and verbal Business English.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and production of breads, pastries, cakes and desserts.
• Ensure the consistency, quality and presentation of bakery items.
• Plan and execute new bakery recipes for outlets, events and banquets.
• Support in daily mise en place, stock control and hygiene standards.
• Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations.
• Assist in developing new bakery recipes and ideas for the menu.
• Manage storage of ingredients and baked goods, ensuring safety and freshness.
• Work with the Chef de Partie on seasonal and special occasion menus.
• Minimize waste by accurate measuring and using leftovers.
• Support breakfast service, afternoon tea and event functions.
• Train and supervise junior kitchen staff in baking and pastry techniques.
