About the Role

The Demi Chef de Partie for Oriental & Chinese Cuisine is responsible for assisting in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of high-quality Oriental and Chinese dishes. The role supports the Chef de Partie and the kitchen team in ensuring authentic flavors, consistent quality, and efficient kitchen operations, while maintaining hygiene and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook a variety of Oriental and Chinese dishes, ensuring authenticity in taste and presentation.
  • Assist in the development and testing of new recipes and menu items, keeping up with current trends and customer preferences.
  • Support the Chef de Partie in supervising and training junior kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to recipes and quality standards.
  • Organize and set up the assigned section of the kitchen to maximize productivity and maintain workflow efficiency.
  • Monitor the quality, freshness, and presentation of all dishes before they leave the kitchen.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations at all times.
  • Assist in inventory management, stock rotation, and ordering of ingredients to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
  • Participate in daily kitchen briefings and operational meetings to coordinate with other sections and ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  • Contribute to menu planning, recipe documentation, and cost control measures as directed by senior chefs.
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is used safely and maintained in good working order.
