JOB PURPOSE:
As a Demand Planner you will be responsible for planning and controlling the inventory of the product range to increase the sales and minimize the losses by proper merchandising and inventory management processes.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Ensure effective in season management across territories - stock transfers, markdown management, stock analysis, stock vs sales performance, non-moving stocks.
- Build allocation strategies focused on store clusters, customer profiles and opportunities by store. Ensures optimum inventory levels are maintained for each brand/category, keeping in mind store requirements.
- Develop and publish KPI, Benchmark and Best & Worst Seller reports which will give accurate and reliable information to the management and facilitate decision making.
- Prepare aged inventory and mark-down strategy; both in season and end of season and get timely resolution of liquidation.
- Understand gaps in the inventory control process, do stock consolidations and replenishment in timely manner. Work on OTB’s.
- Analyse historical data and current trends to identify risks and opportunities; compare sales data of the planned gender/category to company sales and communicate major deviations.
- Prepare and maintains order tracking, sales comparison trackers for sales events.
- Publish performance reports across all stores/ brands with stakeholders.
- Maintain and track non-merchandise stock levels (e.g. stationaries, POSM items, etc.)
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business management, or any related degree
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in fashion retail, with in depth experience in merchandising
- Strong focus on demand planning and forecasting techniques, including historical trend analysis and seasonality.
- Proficiency in data analysis, with the ability to interpret large data sets to generate actionable insights.
- Experience working cross-functionally with merchandising, supply chain, sales, and finance teams.
- Continuous process improvement mindset, with examples of optimizing planning cycles or improving forecast accuracy.
- A preference for candidates with hands-on experience in Oracle Demand Planning.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel functionalities, including pivot tables, complex formulas, and data modeling.
