Job Description
Job Purpose
The Dealer, Money Market and Foreign Exchange aims to contribute to the implementation of the investment strategy’s objectives of liquidity, FX exposure, return, and risk by monitoring and executing transactions of the money market portfolios, providing research and analysis for money market and FX counterparty selection, and conducting performance measurement and attribution.
Key Accountability Areas and Activities
The key activities include, but are not limited to:
- Implement the approved investment plan for money market allocation and FX exposure, and suggest development of investment strategies.
- Suggest ideas for developing investment strategies in the money market and FX portfolios.
- Comply with investment policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Execute FX (spot, forwards, and swaps) and money market (acceptances, deposits, and money market products) transactions.
- Participate in analyzing global and regional money markets and FX, utilizing quantitative models and qualitative assessments to forecast market movements and identify opportunities.
- Participate in the sovereign, credit, and counterparty risk analysis through fundamental, absolute, and relative value models.
- Assist in monitoring the return and risk profile of money market portfolios and FX portfolios, reviewing liquidity, cash flows, valuation, performance, and currency compositions.
- Assist in producing, maintaining, and reviewing reports, including dashboards to monitor market metrics and ratings.
- Contribute to contingency planning for market volatility and financial uncertainties.
- Suggest improvements to policies and oversee the implementation of procedures and controls for money market and FX activities.
- Monitor updates related to IPMS to ensure compliance and accuracy of transactions.
- Ensure compliance with policies, processes, SOPs, and CFA code of ethics.
- Maintain relationships with global and regional banks and financial institutions to diversify counterparty sources.
- Maintain contact with banks and brokers for market analysis reports and financial intelligence.
- Build and manage relationships with member countries to enhance cooperation in deposit and fund management activities.
- Coordinate with other departments regarding portfolios and reports.
- Suggest improvements to systems, processes, and practices based on industry standards and market changes.
- Share knowledge with Money Markets and FX Dealers to enhance portfolio returns and business continuity.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in money market and FX management
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, Investment Management, Economics, or related field
- Professional CFA certification or equivalent preferred
- Excellent communication and writing skills in Arabic and English; French is an advantage
