Job Description Summary

Job Description: SCS Support Engineer. This position is responsible for handling all DCS activities in the field for all GEVGA projects, including onshore and offshore in UAE and outside UAE.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Coordinate and record tests for digital inputs, controls, measurements, interlocks, and SCADA signals.
• Coordinate and record tests for SCS complex functionalities.
• Coordinate and record tests for NCC/DCC with standard protocols.
• Inform and report on time to the SCS Engineer in charge.
• Prepare AsBuilt documentation for SCS systems, including consoles, data lists, IP address plans, and connectivity drawings.
• Prepare images and backups for PCs installed at the site.
• Create backups for switches and GPS equipment installed at the site.
• Demonstrate good communication and writing skills, with experience in preparing and presenting reports to multiple stakeholders.
• Lead the installation of the SCS system at the site, including fiber optic layout, PC installation at panels, SCS consoles wiring, and testing.
• Prepare and install labels for fiber optics and Ethernet cables.
• Responsible for FS installation, erection, and commissioning activities at sites.
• Manage resource planning and workload to ensure a 90% or higher billable ratio for assigned projects/sites.
• Support the operations team to control projects effectively in terms of budget, profitability, planning, and reporting (internal/external). Ensure timely delivery and quality of documentation as per agreements.
• Coordinate workplace EHS issues and ensure the availability of suitable PPE for T&C personnel, both internal and subcontracted.
• Ensure commitments to customers are met according to the contract, with clear feedback through regular communication and meetings.
• Knowledge of schemes and applications of IEDs (e.g., BCUs, BMPs, BCUPs, protection relays, controllers) in electrical networks, including HV & EHV systems and substation automation technologies.
• Knowledge of competitor products is advantageous.
• Experience in managing sites for control systems is a distinct advantage.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English; Arabic is a plus.
• Experience in transformer design processes is an asset.
• Knowledge of GEGA products and systems, especially automation.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
• No travel restrictions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, PC installation, troubleshooting, and software installation.
• Experience in network deployment.
• Experience in SCS commissioning.
• Understanding of substation electrical drawings and control system concepts.
• Protocols knowledge: T101, T103, T104, IEC61850, Modbus.
