Job summary

Star Services seeks a Technician - RM23 Mechanical Day to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on RM Mill equipment. You will troubleshoot breakdowns, inspect equipment, and implement maintenance standards to optimize production and minimize downtime.

The role requires experience in mechanical fitter work, reading engineering drawings, and rigging knowledge, with fluency in English and basic computer skills.

Qualifications

• ITI in Mechanical Fitter trade or Diploma in Mechanical.
• Technical knowledge of predictive & preventive maintenance of RM.
• Knowledge & skill of trouble shooting of RM.
• Understanding of engineering drawings and hydraulic circuits.
• Works with hand tools, measuring tools, portable tools and tackles.
• Fluency in spoken and written English language.
• Knowledge of rigging and slinging.
• Basic computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• To perform scheduled (day-to-day preventive) maintenance, corrective maintenance and major repairs on RM Mill equipment to optimize production.
• To execute maintenance activities to minimize plant downtime and increase mill availability and cost-conscious spare part usage.
• Troubleshoot during breakdowns and provide root cause analysis for corrective action.
• Inspect equipment to meet engineering principles and safety regulations.
• Follow mechanical maintenance standards and manage policies and procedures.
• Lead a group of Technicians/Fitters and guide maintenance development works.
• Help in other mechanical areas as required.

Job Title: Technician - RM23 Mechanical Day

Role Purpose

To perform the maintenance activities of RM Mill in order to achieve the assigned targets such as minimize

plant down time and increase the mill availability & consumption of spares with cost consciousness.

Accountabilities & Activities

Key Activities

Responsibilities Optimize Production:

To execute all scheduled (day-to-day preventive) maintenance corrective maintenance and major repairs

of the equipments in order to optimize production & minimize plant down time for maintenance related

development works

Prompt Trouble Shooting:

Responsible for trouble shooting during breakdowns of mechanical equipments and provide the assistance

to find out the root cause for corrective action maintenance related development works Providing Solutions:

Audit and Investigation:

Inspection of equipments to meet engineering principles and safety regulations in maintenance related

development works. Maintenance Support:

Implementing Standards:

Follow mechanical maintenance standards for all equipment in the RM Plant. Policies and Procedures Management:

Supervision:

To lead a group of Technician / Fitter (instruction and guidance to Technician / Fitter) and participate in

maintenance related development works.

Qualifications/Experience

Minimum Qualification

Trainings or Certifications)

I.T.I. in Mechanical Fitter trade/Diploma degree in Mechanical.

Technical knowledge of predictive & preventive maintenance of RM

Knowledge & Skill of Trouble Shooting of RM .

Understanding of engineering drawings and Hydraulic circuits

Works with hand tools measuring tools portable tools and tackles

Fluency in spoken and written English language.

Knowledge of rigging and slinging

Basic computer literacy

Professional Experience

5 Years as a Technician / Fitter in Steel Plant

7-8 years experience in Mechanical maintenance of Steel Plant as a Sr.

Technician / Mechanic.

Ability to study and understand mechanical assembly drawings

Language(s) Known

English (Mandatory) Arabic Hindi

Key Performance Indicator

Optimization and minimum of cost for mechanical repairs maintenance and downtime.

Ensure Health Safety and Environment with Zero accidents incurred by personnel

Ensure availability of RM through scheduling and preparing plant equipments

Initiate corrective action for prompt clarification resolutions and results of problems

Rectification of reviewed equipment with smooth transition and production
