Job Purpose

• Focus on strong statistical analysis, problem-solving skills, and statistical programming knowledge to rapidly develop hypotheses during the discovery phase of company tenders and projects.
• Implement the approved corporate Artificial Intelligence and Analytics strategy to develop actionable insights that continuously optimize business decisions.
• Provide accurate cost calculations for tenders and projects.
• Enhance production and reduce costs for projects in execution.
• Implement models by transforming and optimizing for project performance.

Principal Accountabilities

Key Accountabilities :

• Analyze all NMDC Group data generated during dredging projects using databases, programming, and visual dashboards.
• Collect, store, verify data accuracy, perform analyses, ensure statistical quality, and generate management reports.
• Deploy advanced analytics use cases into production.
• Support the development of analytics standards and protocols for scalability and support for self-service analytics.
• Stay updated on latest data science approaches and leverage relevant practices within the Data and Analytics function.
• Implement standards and protocols as per project requirements.

Responsibilities and duties

• Apply advanced statistical and predictive modeling techniques to build and improve decision systems, design experiments, and test hypotheses.
• Identify relevant data sources, including internal and external data, geo-location data, unstructured data (emails, logs, social media).
• Mine and analyze data to optimize dredging processes, project development, and budget estimation.
• Develop innovative approaches to solve business problems and communicate results effectively.
• Use existing database patterns for predictive analysis.
• Monitor performance of decision systems and models continuously.
• Recommend and implement improvements to methods and algorithms.
• Establish an ecosystem for analytics adoption within the organization.
• Serve as the company's AI and Machine Learning expert to address dredging project challenges.

Professional Skill Requirements

• Experience in designing and prototyping ML pipelines, from data extraction to model deployment and retraining.
• Experience conducting impactful data investigations and analyses to identify patterns and root causes.
• Ability to validate findings, test hypotheses, and interpret experiments.
• Proficiency in managing dredging data within databases and ensuring data quality.
• Experience in developing machine learning algorithms to meet project goals.

Experience

• Proficiency in statistical languages (R, Python, SQL) for data manipulation and insights.
• Experience with data architectures and various ML techniques (clustering, decision trees, neural networks).
• Knowledge of statistical techniques (regression, distributions, tests).
• Hands-on experience with data mining techniques like GLM, Random Forest, text mining, social network analysis.

Educational Qualifications & Certifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD) is advantageous.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant industry experience.
• Skills in data visualization, analytical thinking, and organization.
• Strong communication skills, adaptability, eagerness to learn.

HSE Behavioural Skills

• Adhere to NMDC HSE policies and procedures.
• Fluent in English (spoken and written).

IT Skills

• Proficiency in scripting languages (SQL, Python, Spark), rapid prototyping, and cloud platforms (Azure, Azure Databricks, Azure ML).
• Experience with developer tools (Azure DevOps, Docker, Visual Studio).
• Knowledge of data visualization tools like PowerBI.
