Data & Sales Analyst – Agri Commodity Trade (Rice, Edible Oil, Oil Seeds, Spices)

Region Scope: Middle East, North Africa, East Africa, and Europe

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly analytical and results-driven Data Analyst to join our commodity trading team, focusing on rice, edible oil, and related products.

The role involves supporting trading decisions through detailed data insights on market trends, pricing, supply-demand dynamics, and trade performance.

The analyst will collaborate closely with traders, the origin team, and the Global Research Team to optimize trade data management and oversee critical S&D information.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Market Analysis: Monitor global and regional trends in rice, edible oil, and related commodities, including crop forecasts, weather patterns, trade policies, and pricing benchmarks.
2. Trade Flow Analysis: Analyze historical and real-time trade flow data, focusing on market-specific data, buyer behavior, cyclicality, and stock buildup in destination markets.
3. Data Preparation: Analyze and prepare lead data based on macro and microeconomic factors.
4. Supply Chain Intelligence: Track vessel movements, inventory levels, logistics bottlenecks, and demand in destination markets to inform shipping and procurement strategies.
5. Market Intelligence Gathering: Consolidate information from cargo reports, customs data, and brokers into actionable insights.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Agribusiness, Economics, Data Science, or related fields.
2. 7-8 years of relevant work experience, including working with large, unstructured datasets to derive strategic insights.
3. At least 2 years of experience in commodity trading analytics, preferably in agricultural commodities.
4. Strong understanding of agri-commodity markets, crop cycles, shipping, logistics, and global trade flows.
