Job Description
Job Overview
As Data Protection Officer, you will oversee the data privacy framework across Asia operations, ensuring compliance with local regulations, leading assessments, responding to data subject requests, and collaborating cross-functionally with teams in Legal, Compliance, HR, IT, and more. You will also act as the governance SPOC for the region and support strategic risk initiatives aligned with FAB s objectives.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as Data Protection Officer for FAB Asia, including Singapore and Labuan
* Maintain and update the Data Privacy Framework in line with evolving regulations
* Conduct privacy risk assessments and manage DPIA/PIA processes
* Advise on third-party vendor due diligence and data transfer agreements
* Coordinate with Legal, InfoSec, and compliance teams on data governance issues
* Oversee training, awareness campaigns, and regulatory readiness
* Manage breach notifications, subject access requests, and record-keeping
* Serve as SPOC for corporate governance matters in the Asia region
* Support cross-border data transfer compliance and record management
* Provide advisory and support for audits, reviews, and internal assessments
* Participate in group-wide data protection projects and risk initiatives
Job Requirements
* Bachelor s degree in Business, Banking, Finance, or related field
* Minimum 5 years experience in Data Protection, Privacy, or InfoSec roles
* Relevant certifications such as CIPP, CIPM, or equivalent required
* Strong understanding of local and international data protection laws
* Familiarity with cyber security standards (e.g., PCI DSS, ISO, MAS TRM)
* Experience managing regulatory engagement and privacy incidents
* Solid knowledge of risk management frameworks and corporate governance
* Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and project skills
* Fluent in English; fluency in an Asian language preferred
* Designated as Material Risk Personnel (MRP) under MAS IAC guidelines
