Job Description

The Data Protection Officer will be responsible for:

  1. Leading the implementation, monitoring, and enforcement of data protection policies, in line with Saudi PDPL, NDMO guidelines, and international data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, ISO/IEC 27701).
  2. Acting as the primary point of contact for all data privacy inquiries internally and externally (including regulators, vendors, and internal stakeholders).
  3. Overseeing and conducting Data Protection Impact Assessments (PIAs), data mapping, and gap analyses across business units.
  4. Creating and delivering training and awareness programs for employees across the group to promote data privacy culture.
  5. Managing data breach response protocols, investigations, and reporting requirements.
  6. Monitoring regulatory updates and advising leadership on compliance risks and recommendations.
The Successful Applicant

The Data Protection Officer will be/have:

  1. A Bachelor's degree in Law, Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
  2. 5+ years of experience in data protection, compliance, or cybersecurity, with at least 2 years in a DPO or privacy leadership role.
  3. Strong knowledge of PDPL (Saudi Arabia), NDMO regulations, and global standards such as GDPR, ISO 27001, and ISO 27701.
  4. Certifications such as CIPM, CIPT, CIPP/E, ISO 27001 LA, or IAPP membership (highly desirable).
  5. Demonstrated experience working with risk assessments, data protection impact assessments, and privacy frameworks.
  6. Based in or willing to relocate to Khobar, Saudi Arabia.
