Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Privacy & Security Engineer to join our team in the UAE. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data privacy, security engineering, and regulatory compliance. This role requires the ability to implement privacy-by-design principles, develop data protection controls, and ensure alignment with global and regional privacy regulations.

Key Responsibilities :

  1. Design and implement privacy-by-design and default principles into systems, processes, and products.
  2. Develop and maintain data protection controls, including encryption, anonymization, access control, and secure data storage solutions.
  3. Ensure compliance with applicable privacy laws and regulations such as GDPR, CCPA, UAE Personal Data Protection Law, etc.
  4. Collaborate with engineering, legal, and compliance teams to embed privacy and security into the product lifecycle.
  5. Perform privacy impact assessments (PIAs) and data protection impact assessments (DPIAs).
  6. Monitor and audit data usage to detect and address privacy risks and breaches.
  7. Develop and maintain incident response plans related to data privacy and security breaches.
  8. Provide training and awareness on data privacy best practices across the organization.
  9. Evaluate and integrate privacy-enhancing technologies and solutions.

Required Qualifications & Skills :

  1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  2. Minimum 6 years of experience in data privacy, security engineering, or a similar role.
  3. Strong knowledge of privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, UAE PDPL, etc.).
  4. Hands-on experience with data protection tools and technologies (e.g., DLP, encryption, IAM).
  5. Experience conducting PIAs and DPIAs.
  6. Professional certifications such as CIPP / E, CIPM, CIPT, CISSP, or similar are preferred.
  7. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
