AWS’ Infrastructure Physical Security Team is looking for a Data Center Security Specialist with experience working in critical infrastructure installations, available for a UAE national with family book. AWS is committed to contributing toward the UAE’s goal of employing 75,000 Emiratis in the private sector and Ministerial Resolution No.279.

As a Data Center Security Specialist you will drive operational security excellence in a control room setting or across several facilities within a short driving distance. Your vigilance will foster a culture of quality and enable proactive identification of physical security vulnerabilities for remediation. You will interface with and direct security vendors involved in new security construction, repairs, daily security operations, patrols, and planning. You will extract metrics, observe improvements from hard data, advise on security system improvements and design, and lead security awareness training for data center occupants. You will write and implement security procedures and directorates, prepare reports, develop presentations, and advise leadership on the status of physical security operations.

Responsibilities

• Help lead daily operational security as part of a security operations team across multiple facilities
• Drive security awareness campaigns to enhance security vigilance and effectiveness
• Experience with workflow ticketing and extraction development of performance metrics
• Lead security investigations across campus facilities
• Oversee physical security vendors that provide guards, electronic security systems, door construction/repair, fencing, and access controls
• Distill overarching security strategy into daily tactics to achieve management goals
• Oversee security construction projects
• Provide security awareness training to data center personnel
• As this is a GovCloud region, the selected candidate requires US Citizenship or equivalent status
• May be tasked with working different work shifts consisting of Day, Mid, or Evening/Overnight shifts

Basic Qualifications

• UAE National with family book
• Experience overseeing security operations, project management experience, experience with Microsoft Office tools
• Experience working with security vendors and contractors, experience creating process improvement procedures

Preferred Qualifications

• Associates degree or higher and/or equivalent professional experience in a corporate or government security environment
• 2+ years of experience with excellent verbal and written communication skills in a professional setting, experience writing detailed reports, overseeing security vendors that provide guards and electronic security systems
• 2+ years of experience creating and implementing emergency planning programs, physical security countermeasures, root-cause analysis experience, familiarity with security program automation and various Access/Intrusion Control Systems, ability to interpret program objectives, develop project schedules and manage adherence to timetables, ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences regarding physical security standards and system designs
