Job description

Responsibilities (Text Only)

As a successful Data Center Program Manager (IT/Network/Compliance), your success will be measured by:

  • Follow and adhere to safety and security policies and procedures. Report immediately any safety or security issues or concerns.
  • Work on complex IT deployments covering power reservation, rack layout, network compatibility, and physical installation.
  • Conscientiously manage costs and adhere to budget requirements; contribute to staying within budget.
  • Act as the single point of contact for all data center metro level audit and compliance projects, initiatives, and ongoing operational activities, including site safety drills and tabletop exercises.
  • Learn and embody the One Microsoft culture and values. Lead through change by bringing clarity, generating energy, and delivering success.
  • Promote a culture of safety and security in global data center operations by complying with CO+I’s safety programs and policies and completing compliance assessments.
  • Develop positive relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Your day-to-day work will include:

  1. Engage with landlords, cabling contractors, and internal teams to ensure alignment on timelines, power, and physical footprint.
  2. Proactively review schedules and avoid conflicts when possible. Manage expectations and offer alternatives to meet SLA/OLAs with minimal disruption.
  3. Manage relationships with clients and suppliers to clarify, understand, document, and meet expectations—review SOWs and track deliverables.
  4. Suggest ways to reduce maintenance risks and coordinate scheduling needs.
  5. Hold yourself accountable for end-to-end service quality, including availability, safety, security, and customer experience. Support escalation of issues as needed.
  6. Perform regular site inspections for audit readiness and lead corrective actions on identified gaps.
  7. Implement strategies to improve compliance, onboarding of new facilities, and operational efficiencies related to audits and compliance programs.
  8. Complete quarterly governance, risk, and compliance control tasks, ensuring standards are met.
  9. Collaborate with document owners to resolve gaps and ensure maintenance of all auditable documentation.
  10. Manage and maintain environmental, emergency, and business continuity plans.
  11. Spend 25% of time on the floor ensuring standards are maintained across all data centers, including cleanliness, safety, and operational standards.

Qualifications (Text Only)

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent AND 1+ years industry experience OR 2+ years industry experience with college coursework.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years’ experience in critical environment infrastructures or physical IT infrastructures.
  • Technical College degree in relevant fields.
  • Applicable certifications such as ASICS/Inventory Control, CompTIA, Microsoft, Network Certifications, PMP, ITIL, CDCP.
